Intro article – intergenerational solidarity – ˝Razumem vas˝

2012 is the European Year for Active Ageing and Solidary Between Generations. The aim is to raise awareness about the contribuition that all generations do to society, no matter if are youngsters or elderly that we are talking about. Everyone has a part, rights and duties.

As the year went along, several events were lead by Škis in order to increase awareness to this issue, for instance, in June as you may recall, young student families were the focus, and their children. This is an event that happens since 2006 and will be continued in the future.

As the year comes to an end, it is most important to bring to mind the elderly and the great importance that they have and will keep having for us all, someday you will be one as well, keep that in mind! As a full member of society, they have rights and cannot be held in disregard and quality of life is essencial, more even so at this particular time of year, designed to be spent with family.

Keeping that in mind, Škis decided to do chritmas postcards to be distributed in a nearby elderly home while sharing some stories in a afternoon devoted to the elder.
