On Saturday, 29 October 2016, the representatives of Slovene student clubs elected the new leadership of the Association of Student Clubs of Slovenia (ŠKIS). After two years of her presidency, Špela Oset passed it on Patricija Premrov, a longstanding member of ŠKIS and a former leader of the Board for Education. Additionally, ŠKIS also got a new member – the Club of Italian Students in Slovenia, which already presented itself at this year’s ŠKIS Fair.

Within Škisova tržnica, we are organizing the International Ocean, where you can present your country through culinary specialties, culture and other interesting facts from your local environment.

Like every year before, an important part of ŠKIS Fair is also International Ocean. Members of ŠKIS' international board make sure that students from all over Slovenia met up with students from abroad. For the past years, International Ocean is an opportunity for intercultural dialog, building bridges and cooperation among youth. It is indispensable part of ŠKIS Fair since it contributes necessary international scheme.

At the annual general meeting that took place on Saturday, 14 November, in Krško, student clubs elected the leadership of the ŠKIS Association (the Association of Student Clubs). The leadership of the Association will remain in hands of the incumbentpresident Špela Oset from Celje, who received the support of 37 councillors of local student clubs.

The ŠKIS fair has been uniting students from all around Slovenia for many years. It gives them an opportunity to get together in one place on a particular warm spring day and present their work, cultural character of their part of Slovenia or cuisine from a certain area. In the last years, a special place has also been dedicated to intercultural networking and collaboration. Therefore a place among other stands that represent regional student clubs is now also given to the International Board of ŠKIS Association that invites different young people who want to make a contribution to diversity of the event to be a part of it.

Dear Internationals!

The International Board of the Association of Student Clubs of Slovenia (ŠKIS Association) would like to invite you to be a part of the biggest student event in Slovenia – “Škisova tržnica” (ŠKIS fair), which will take place on 7th May 2015.

The International Committee of Association ŠKIS will end this summer in the atmosphere of intercultural comprehension and discovering the differences and similarities between different cultures. Between 24 and 26 August 2014 you are invited to a three-day project Better Together (Skupaj boljši) which will be held in the hostel Celica.

Youthpass, the European tool to improve the recognition of the learning outcomes of young people and youth workers/leaders, from their participation in projects supported by the EU Youth in Action Programme, was launched in July 2007. The new European Union Erasmus+ Programme (2014-2020) will also contain Youthpass and offers new perspectives and frameworks for it.

The United Nations' (UN) World Refugee Day is observed on June 20 each year. This event honors the courage, strength and determination of women, men and children who are forced to flee their homeland under threat of persecution, conflict and violence.
