“Klub belokranjskih študentov” (KŠB) is the largest youth organization, which brings together young people, especially students and high school students. Its performance has since then been focused primarily on the creative activity of young people. With a broad program of activities which seek to capture the widest range of youth activities they strive to positive thinking. They believe that the active participation of the youth in the public sphere discourse is an extremely important element in the further development of Bela Krajina. The club regularly carries out projects mainly in the field of culture and sport. With the co-funding of student diplomas they support research work and promote the return of the students to Bela Krajina. With public tenders they fund youth activities and stimulate youth in all areas.
KŠB is trying to offer students a wide range of extracurricular activities, which would not be available if it were not for KŠB. It also financially and technically supports the majority of youth clubs in Bela Krajina (KUD Plac, ŠD Partizan Semič, ŠTD Vinica …). They also help with projects such as “Teden kulture na placu” and “Športno poletje v Semiču. They cooperate with Youth Culture Club Bela Krajina (MKK) and in 2004 they also founded the first youth center in Bela Krajina – MC Bit.
“Črnfest” (most prominent KŠB project) is a festival, directed by young activist and students of Youth Culture Club Bela Krajina and “Klub belokranjskih študentov”. It lasts for a whole August. The festival is made up of children’s program of clowns and magicians performances. There is also theater, stand-up comedy and lots of good music. The goal is to attract people of all ages.
“EtnoFolkFest” is a music festival of “world music”, organized by KŠB since 2003. It is a companion event of the oldest folk festival in Slovenia called “Jurjevanje”. In an open-air two-day festival they try to offer special musical experience for all music fans. The purpose of the festival is to offer youth a different kind of music, which is not that common.
